Sunday, October 22, 2023 – 3rd day of the journey from Chioggia (VE) to Latisana (UD).<\/p>\n
Following the unpleasant experience of the night, where we stayed at a poor-quality, damp, and very (very!) noisy hotel, we set off towards Trieste Latisana. Reaching Trieste would have required a considerable amount of energy, so we opted for an intermediate stop in the Friulian city.<\/p>\n
To reach Latisana, we had to cross the Venetian Lagoon. Along the way, we had to cross 3 islets, which meant taking 3 different ferries, separated by a stretch of 9 kilometers that we could pedal. To ensure we made it in time for each ferry, we engaged in a “race” with the bus that connects the various sections, a real tour de force that, however, rewarded our efforts. A small note of interest: we didn’t know that a marathon was scheduled in Venice. It was probably for the best, as otherwise, we would have certainly taken a longer route, which would have consumed more energy!<\/p>\n
In Latisana, we stayed at the Hotel Cigno<\/a> with a brand-new attached residence, a truly superb Bike Hotel that comes highly recommended.<\/p>\n
